About Us
Long years ago, independent India’s first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru once pointed out: “When there is an attack on the nation, it is not the army or the fighter jets which will save us, but it will be the inner strength of the nation which will.” In an age of unpredictability, with pandemics and sanctions, this strength will be derived from self-reliance - not only in manufacturing, but also in resources. And for a nation, rich in its botanical resources, the importance for technologies based on phytochemicals is paramount.
The name Vitesti is derived from Latin Vita, meaning life; and Lithuanian Esti, meaning bone. As many Indians will swiftly recognize, Esti and Sanskrit Asthi might share their origins. Vitesti Research was founded as an organization, focused on fundamental research in areas which can strengthen the backbone of life - pharmaceuticals, and its supporting arm, nutraceuticals. India’s establishment of Phytopharmaceuticals as a drug class, in 2016, has ushered in a new horizon in the domain of health and wellness, besides making a strong statement to the world. Founded by three alumni of an institute, IIT Kharagpur, whose motto is Dedicated to the Service of the Nation, our organization’s goal remains achieving self-reliance in health and wellness for India. Having our origins in a middle-income economy, we approach the problems not only from a medical and logistical perspective, but also from a socio-economic one. We believe a medicine is as effective, as its reach is - economically. Systems we provide in India, are and will be, affordable by the middle-income group. We are also working on procuring support from non-profit organizations to provide our systems to lower-income and lower-middle-income groups.
Our research is decentralized - conducted simultaneously in Santa Barbara, CA (US) and Agartala, TR (India). Our work is currently funded by sharing our phytochemical-based technologies with our US clients in the nutraceutical industry, and offering them white labeling for various products.
Vitesti Research also works on activating metals and hydrides for various applications, under its brand AMH Energy (AMH standing for Activated Metals and Hydrides), in collaboration with TIT, Agartala, TR (India).
